11:00AM-12:00PM: NASA Astronaut- Kjell Lindgren presents “From Scouting to Space”

Eagle Scout and NASA astronaut Kjell Lindgren plans to visit the 2023 National Jamboree on Friday, July 21.  The NASA astronaut, an Assistant Scoutmaster and father of Scouts, will describe his journey from Scouting to 311 days in a low Earth orbit.  He’ll share how the skills he learned as a Scout continue to serve him today, and how life on the International Space Station is a lot like life at camp.  Two presentations on “From Scouting to Space: ‘Camping’ on the International Space Station” are planned for that morning, at 9 AM in the Alumni Adventure Complex and at 11 AM in STEM Quest.
