Trainings
This mix of participant and adult trainings includes everything from icebreakers and “finding your why” to mentoring, ALPS trainings, and the Kazoo Experience. “Bling and Danglies,” Ethical Controversies, Messengers of Peace, and the popular Bias Breakthrough training is available, and participants 14-20 can work on marksmanship in a guided laser-simulator environment. Adult Scouters can learn about the Kodiak Challenge and Powder Horn in short introductory courses, or take the Course Directors Courses with experienced scouters as guide-at-the-side. Scoutmasters and other interested adults are particularly encouraged to take the “Scouting Doesn’t End” training, designed by current OYP participants to share the ways that OYP programs support the BSA.
