Professional Entomologists will assist Scouts in earning Insect Study Merit Badge. We will have preserved exotic insects from all over the world as well as live insects to demonstrate the importance of insects to our society and to illustrate the diversity of insects. Come by and see some fascinating creatures.

Visit the Landscape Photography tent daily at Boulder Cove to learn about how to take stunning sunrises, spectacular sunsets, starry nightscape, and wispy waterfalls. Complete a 30-minute class to learn some basics, a 45-minute photo walk to hone your skills. Admire each other’s photos. Earn a pin for your Outdoor Recreation patch while supplies last.
National Parks Service-
Join the National Park Service for a visit to the past, present and future! Learn about the National Park Service Mission, test your history knowledge, join us for hands on activities, or design your own National Park, to earn a patch!
Natural Resources Conservation Service-
The Natural Resources Conservation Service will be offering the Soil and Water Conservation Merit Badge at this exhibit. Participants will learn about soil, soil erosion, topographic maps, soil mapping and watersheds. Instruction time will be approximately one hour to earn the full merit badge.
Orienteering–
Orienteering is the sport of navigation using a compass and a highly detailed map. It’s easy to learn and a fun way to exercise your body and mind as you enjoy the outdoors. Whether you’re a hiker, runner, or a family, this sport helps you improve your navigation. Orienteering is a life skill. Earn a pin for your Outdoor Recreation patch while supplies last.
Society of American Foresters and West Virginia Division of Forestry-
Visit the Society of American Foresters, and the West Virginia Division of Forestry on the Conservation Trail. At the Sustainable Forestry Initiative, learn about career opportunities in the sustainability field, how SFI Certification protects species in decline and how forest sustainability can mitigate the impacts of climate change. Complete some Sustainability Merit Badge requirements. At the Society of American Foresters and the West Virginia Division of Forestry, meet with professional foresters and learn about the exciting world of forestry. Learn how to become a professional forester and how foresters manage natural resources, while you complete some Forestry Merit Badge requirements.

At the Sustainable Forestry Initiative, learn about career opportunities in the sustainability field, how SFI Certification protects species in decline and how forest sustainability can mitigate the impacts of climate change. US Forest Service-
Work with professionals from the USDA Forest Service and learn about our natural resources, complete some conservation requirements, get ideas for service projects, and meet Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl.
Are you interested in a career in natural resources, firefighting or maybe law enforcement? Come by the Forest Service exhibit on the Conservation Trail to talk to a professional in those fields.
