“Can you violate the laws of physics and get on the “Most Wanted” leaderboard? You’ll need to build the fastest, most feature rich marble run roller coaster, configure a catapult to launch beans the furthest “over the Summit”, and more. Are you up to the challenge?

“Explore design and strength engineering! Construct a DaVinci Bridge using large, wooden telephone poles – and nothing else – then walk across the self-supporting bridge. Create a small-scale pioneering bridge using rope and wooden spars. How many buckets of water will your bridge support? Design and build the tallest tower you can, then test its strength during a simulated earthquake.”

Sculpture Merit Badge-
Visit Vandalia Bronze and Love Hope Arts in the Gateway. Scouts will do Statue Scavenger Hunt at Summit; complete Sculpture MB requirements through Clay or VR sculpture demo, experience VR Gallery tour, or create a VR sculpture and save it. Epic sticker giveaways and sales of Love Hope Artwork are also available daily. Stop by to see schedule of VR and Live Clay demos each day.

Sustainability Treehouse-
The Sustainability Treehouse is a living education center for visitors to the Summit Bechtel Reserve, not only providing information, but also immersing visitors in the concept of sustainability. Between the local timber used to build the structure, the rainwater recovery system or the wind and solar generated energy, the Sustainability Treehouse is not just a museum, it’s an adventure.
Sustainability has always been a part of the Boy Scouts of America, even if it hasn’t always been called such. With the rolling out of the Sustainability merit badge at the first-ever jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Reserve, and the opening of the Sustainability Treehouse, the BSA reaffirmed its commitment to leading the way in a world where resources are finite and our footprint continues to grow.

Explore environmental, construction and engineering projects! Fill a lock chamber without the barge crashing! Participate in a hands-on activity to manage flooding in a physical model. Explore how drones and other technology are utilized for surveying and mapping. See live, native fish that show the water quality in our streams.
Are you interested in welding? Come and leave your imprint by welding with Miller utilizing a simulator and a welding machine. You will learn the basics of welding and be able to complete a welding project utilizing different common weld techniques. On-site July 24-27
